STEEL THE SHOW
A force within the dynamic USA nightlife and party scene, DJ Steel aka ‘Steel The Show’ shares the traits of his namesake, strong, dependable, cool and electric.
Recognized for his insatiable mixing and scratching skills by young trendy movers and shakers, Steel has created a dynamic buzz and has established a loyal international fan base via SiriusXM / Pandora’s satellite radio platform, with his distinct style, versatile sound, and undeniable skills.
Born Naeem McCrae, Steel was exposed to music early on and learned the artistry of mixing sounds by his own mother, an avid New Jersey disc jockey known for spinning in and around the local party circuit in the eighties. Accompanying his mother to various gigs helped the East Orange native find his own groove, and by age sixteen, Steel had landed his first paid performance. Other local gigs would soon follow, and by the time he graduated from East Orange High School, Steel was making regular spinning appearances and had following of his own.
Stylish flair, good looks and a suave personality combined with his unique ability to sample music from various genres, made it easy for Steel to appeal to the masses.
Steel has become a brand of his own. Steady jobs at some of New York City’s most lavish and well-known hot spots helped Steel build his clientele, and before too long, he had become the go-to deejay for many well-known celebrities.
Fast forward to 2023, Steel can be heard mid-days (12p-6p E) on SiriusXM The Heat (Ch. 46), interviewing some of today’s hottest talent. Steel The Show has not only become a staple for a national audience, but it’s not uncommon to find him heating up venues across the country, catering to the elite set, and providing fresh and innovative sounds that cross all musical genres, as Steel continues to establish himself as one of the nation’s premier talents.
